Insurance Coverage
Unlimited deposit insurance protection of low-interest
NOW accounts ended on December 31, 2010. These accounts
will be insured under the general deposit insurance
rules of at least $250,000. All funds in "noninterest-bearing
transaction accounts" are insured in full by the FDIC
through December 31, 2012. The current Standard Maximum
Deposit Insurance Amount (SMDIA) has been permanently
raised to $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank,
